Mr. Nicholas Chrimes, 64 years old, is a writer and lecturer on English culture. He got his Bachelor of Science in Bristol in 1973 and Master of Business Administration in France in 1981. He is now the Chairman of Guides of Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, the History of Art lecturer in Fitzwilliam Museum as well as the retained weekly columnist for the Chinese Weekly. He has delivered lectures around Britain as well as many universities in China, including Beijing Nationality University, Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Sichuan University, etc. Mr. Nicholas Chrimes’s lecture subjects cover History of European Art and aspects of English Culture.

This lecture is a brief but comprehensive introduction of Cambridge University to Chinese students. It is divided into three parts. Part A introduces the evolution of Cambridge University in the context of English culture and education. Part B explains more detailed aspects of Cambridge University including the neglected minorities at Cambridge and the role of Cambridge University in the development of modern sports. Part C mainly introduces two artistically significant buildings - King’s College Chapel and the Fitzwilliam Museum at Cambridge University.
