第二期西方文化大讲堂：外教系列讲座（四）
Horror in Literature：Twisted Tales by Edgar Allan Poe
为了丰富全校大学英语的课堂教学，提升公司员工的跨文化交际素养，伟德BETVlCTOR1946将为全校员工举行第二期西方文化类系列讲座，共十场，讲座涉及英语国家的社会文化、风俗习惯等方面，希望借此能够拓展员工的国际视野，提高员工的跨文化交际能力，激励员工的英语学习。为方便广大同学，本系列讲座安排在南湖、首义两校区的不同时间分别进行，欢迎同学们踊跃参加。本次讲座信息如下：

Abstract: This talk is about the life and works of Edgar Allan Poe. The speaker will demonstrate how his life reflects his writing and how the two are intertwined. The speaker will also build upon the theme of horror in his works and show how his poetry and prose are good for a spooky thrill, especially at this time of year.

Biographical information: Miss Melissa Harding is from Peoria, IL, the United States. She has a degree in English Literature and Writing from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. She enjoys travelling, writing, music and playing violin.
